Alyth McCormack & Triona Marshall

Triona and Alyth have confirmed they will be including Music Under the Mountains festival in Hollywood, Co Wicklow on their current tour, on the evening of their lunchtime performance in the National Concert Hall on the 24th of September.

[From promotional material for NCH concert on 24th Sept >>>] They come together to perform a timeless program of traditional and contemporary Irish and Scottish music and song. This unique pairing developed while spending many years touring worldwide with The Chieftains and performing at many Festivals such as Celtic Connections, Blas, Dranouter, and Lorient. Alyth’s voice known for its ‘great purity and beauty’ is ‘artfully’ complimented by Triona’s ‘sweet’ yet ‘stunning’ harp playing. This blend is guaranteed to move any listener.

Alyth McCormack @ Music Under the Mountains

Alyth McCormack, from the Isle of Lewis, led the Sunday afternoon Music Under the Mountains’ singing session in Tutty’s (seated beside Kevin Conneff, with whom she has performed with many times in the Chieftains). A superb communicator & story teller, as well as a delicate, honest & moving singer, Alyth held the room still with her voice while both talking and singing.
